Every student, after submitting the JEE Main 2027 application form, asks the same question: “Sir, which city will my JEE Main exam be in?” You can find this out from the JEE Main 2027 City Intimation Slip. For Session 1 (January), NTA will release it on 30 December 2026, as per the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin. This blog gives you the dates for both sessions, the download steps, the exam cities in Rajasthan and a simple travel plan if you study in Sikar.

The slip comes out before the admit card, so it gives you time to plan your travel. Your exact centre address comes later, on the admit card.

How to Download the JEE Main 2027 City Intimation Slip

You can download the slip only from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA will activate the Session 1 link there on 30 December 2026. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  2. Check the Latest News and Candidate Activity sections on the home page for the City Intimation Slip link for your session.
  3. Click the link to open the candidate login page.
  4. Enter your application number and password.
  5. Enter the security code, if shown.
  6. Click Login or Submit.
  7. Check your name, application number and allotted exam city.
  8. Download the slip as a PDF, then keep a printout or a saved copy on your phone.

If a WhatsApp forward or any other website offers your city slip before the release date, ignore it. You get your slip only by logging in to the NTA website yourself.

What If You Forget Your Password?

You need your application number and password to log in, so keep both written down somewhere safe. If you forget the password, the bulletin gives two ways to reset it: a verification code sent by SMS to your registered mobile number, or a reset link sent to your registered email address. So keep that phone number and email working until your exam is over.

How NTA Allots Your Exam City for JEE Main 2027

While filling the application form, you chose up to four exam cities in order of preference. These cities come from the state of your permanent or present address. If that state has fewer than four exam cities, you may also get options from other states.

NTA tries to give you a city from your list, in the order you chose. But the bulletin says it can allot a different city for administrative or logistic reasons, and its decision is final. So wait for your slip before you book anything.

JEE Main 2027 Exam Cities in Rajasthan

As per the bulletin, NTA will hold the exam in these 13 cities in Rajasthan:

CityCity Code
AjmerRJ01
AlwarRJ02
BharatpurRJ16
BhilwaraRJ12
BikanerRJ05
DausaRJ17
HanumangarhRJ23
JaipurRJ06
JodhpurRJ07
KotaRJ08
SikarRJ09
SriganganagarRJ10
UdaipurRJ11

If you study in Sikar, you can choose Sikar (RJ09) as an exam city because it is on this list. Even then, choosing Sikar does not guarantee you will get it. You may be allotted another city from your list, such as Jaipur.

Planning Your Travel from Sikar

Your city and your centre address come on two different dates, so plan your travel in two steps.

Step 1 is the day the slip comes out (30 December 2026 for Session 1). Note your allotted city. If it is Sikar, you only need to plan local travel to the centre later. If it is another city, book your train or bus ticket to that city early, because many students travel on the same dates.

Step 2 is the day the admit card comes out (13 January 2027 for Session 1). Check the exact centre address and your shift, and only then book your stay close to the centre. For a 9:00 AM shift, reach the city a day before, because you have to report at the centre by 7:00 AM, 2 hours before the exam starts.

If a parent is travelling with you, tell them both dates early so they can plan leave and tickets with you.

What the City Slip Shows

The main job of the slip is to tell you your allotted exam city. The bulletin does not list every field printed on it, so read your slip carefully once it is out. It carries your basic details, such as:

  • Candidate name
  • Application number
  • Exam session
  • Allotted exam city

Your exact centre address, shift and reporting time come only on the admit card. If anything on the slip is wrong, contact the NTA helpdesk (details below).

JEE Main 2027: City Slip vs Admit Card

Many students mix up these two documents. Both come out before the exam, but each one has its own job. NTA will release the admit card on 13 January 2027 for Session 1 and on 25 March 2027 for Session 2. You can download it with the same application number and password.

What If the City Slip Is Not Showing?

  • First, check the date. The Session 1 slip comes out on 30 December 2026.

  • Check your application number and password. If you forgot the password, reset it as explained above.
  • Try again after some time, because the website can be slow on release day.
  • If it still does not work, contact the NTA helpdesk.

What to Do Next

Write your application number and password somewhere safe today, and check that your registered mobile number and email are working. When your slip comes out, download it, check your city and book your travel the same day if the city is far from home. After that, put your time back into revision, mock tests, previous years’ papers and your weak topics until the admit card arrives.

All the best.
